Therapy Outdoors
Nature therapy can be many different things, and being outside can have therapeutic benefits of its own. I practice by going outside with clients for individual counseling, and inviting the natural landscape in our sessions by connecting with trees, plants, elements, bugs, or animals, we run into. Or we can just sit outside because it’s a nice day!
Reconnection
Nature therapy also provides us with the opportunity to reconnect with nature’s supportive qualities, and with our senses in ways that we don’t when we are inside. Observing nature can also remind us of our own natural qualities.
Nature’s Medicine
Being outside naturally regulates our nervous system. Our frequency begins to align with the Earth’s electromagnetic field (Schumann’s Resonance), and our energy grounds through contact with the Earth and activation of our senses. It’s like 2-for-1 therapy! You get the health benefits of nature and psychotherapy!
Nature Therapy with me can range from sitting on a bench outside, to walking on a relatively flat or slightly hilled terrain (I do not offer adventures or hiking).
Our first few sessions are held in-office to go over paperwork, discuss outdoor preferences and meeting location, and get to know each other.
